I'm a Data Engineer, Systems Analyst and Development Specialist based in Derby, United Kingdom. Four years delivering end-to-end data engineering, automation, and full-stack systems — from ETL pipelines and Power BI reporting to Go/React applications on cloud infrastructure.

My experience so far has been gained inside construction and building-services (MEP) — a low-digital, paper-heavy environment where nothing arrives pre-cleaned and nobody is waiting with a well-documented API. I present that as domain evidence, not identity: delivering reliable data infrastructure inside a business that runs on spreadsheets and paper trails demands the same stakeholder management, requirements extraction from non-technical users, and pragmatic engineering under real constraints that any regulated or legacy-heavy sector — fintech, retail, healthcare, the public sector — will ask for.

Data Engineering

Pipelines that ingest, validate, transform and serve data reliably — scheduled, monitored, and documented.

  • ETL/ELT pipelines and bronze → silver → gold medallion architecture
  • Ingestion from 15+ web and system sources into one SQL-backed catalogue
  • Data quality checks and pipeline monitoring built into execution
  • SQL Server and PostgreSQL design — normalisation, stored procedures, indexing, tuning

Development

Production backends, APIs and interfaces — built, containerised, and deployed to cloud infrastructure.

  • Go REST APIs with JWT authentication over PostgreSQL
  • React frontends and Docker deployment (Railway, Cloudflare)
  • Bespoke workflow and approval automation, and Python scheduled jobs
  • Rules-as-data engines, append-only audit logs, and snapshot-based record design

Systems Analysis

Turning ambiguous, paper-and-spreadsheet processes into structured, auditable systems people actually adopt.
